Wrap Technologies has planted its manufacturing flag in Southwest Virginia, and the future looks big.
This month, we opened the doors to our brand-new U.S. Manufacturing World Headquarters in Norton, Virginia. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to power Wrap’s next chapter of innovation and growth.
The 20,000-square-foot site in Norton’s Project Intersection industrial park in Wise County is purpose-built to scale. At full capacity, the facility can produce 23,000 BolaWrap® 150 devices and more than 150,000 cassettes per month, with room to double or even triple in size as demand grows. It will also serve as the coordination and distribution hub for our WrapVision™ body-worn camera system powered by IONODES and our WrapReality™ immersive VR training systems.
But the new headquarters isn’t just about manufacturing numbers. It’s about people, community, and what “Made in America” means today.
“Relocating our manufacturing headquarters to Norton represents a strategic investment in Wrap’s future,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Jared Novick. “This move is about more than producing the BolaWrap 150 or advancing next-generation technologies; it’s about creating high-quality jobs, fostering innovation, and partnering with a community that shares our commitment to public safety.”
Novick added that Norton stood out because of its workforce and readiness to support growth.
“Norton provides the talent, infrastructure, and momentum we believe we need to grow, and we are proud to make it the home of our next chapter.”
Production lines are set up within the facility, ready to manufacture and assemble new BolaWrap® 150 devices and cassettes, while WrapVision's body-worn cameras, powered by IONODES and WrapReality systems, are configured and shipped directly from the new headquarters. The building also houses an engineering and R&D wing plus a dedicated demonstration and training room, allowing agencies and partners to experience Wrap’s solutions firsthand.
“Our Norton headquarters was built with intention,” said Ron Colaizzi, Director of Operations and Facilities. “From efficient production lines to R&D labs and training rooms, it’s a facility that demonstrates how Wrap is preparing to scale, innovate, and deliver the highest-quality products. We are proud to build these solutions in Southwest Virginia and prouder still to provide good jobs for a community that welcomed us from day one.”
Local Voices
For employees like Sean Edwards, an inventory control associate, the facility represents much more than a job.
“It gives me hope for the local area, which has been struggling mightily once the coal industry moved out of it,” Edwards said.
Logan Peters, who recently joined Wrap as a shipping associate, said the impact of the company’s mission is what excites him most.
“My favorite things about joining Wrap are learning the complexities of the products we offer and realizing how much safer the solutions make for both the police and the community in general,” Peters said.
Creating Jobs and Strengthening Community
The $4.1 million project, supported by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Lonesome Pine Regional Industrial Facilities Authority, the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, and the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, will create more than 120 new jobs across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and training.
Wrap’s move to Virginia builds on our partnerships with more than 40 agencies across the state, including the Virginia Department of Corrections, Richmond Police Department, Fairfax County Police Department, and Virginia Commonwealth University Police.
Looking Ahead
Opening our Norton manufacturing headquarters is a cornerstone of Wrap’s long-term growth strategy. Centralizing production strengthens supply chain resilience and meets the growing demand for safe, effective, and non-lethal public safety solutions.
And we’re just getting started.
Research & Development: CUAS and Scaling to 1,000-Unit Capacity
Beyond manufacturing, Wrap’s Norton headquarters is also a hub for cutting-edge research and development. Our R&D teams are actively working on Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) technology, preparing to expand capabilities that address emerging public safety challenges.
This facility is designed to rapidly scale production to meet the ambitious goal of manufacturing 1,000 CUAS units soon, reflecting Wrap’s commitment to innovation and readiness to address evolving market needs. The integration of CUAS research with our existing product lines underscores our holistic approach to public safety technology.
By investing in CUAS R&D and preparing for high-volume production, Wrap is positioning itself at the forefront of next-generation public safety solutions, ensuring agencies have access to the most advanced, scalable tools available.
