While the entire Northern York County community grieves, the Wrap family is remembering Det. Sgt. Becker not only for his ultimate sacrifice but also for the life he lived in service to others.
Becker’s career reflected a commitment to protecting people in every way possible. He once ran into a burning building to save a mother and her three children, led DUI Task Force operations to make local roads safer, and found everyday ways to give back, such as collecting blankets for people in need. He was known as someone who showed up, an officer defined by courage, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to service.
As part of that service, Becker was a tenured and trusted BolaWrap® and WrapReality® instructor. In this role, he trained officers on Wrap's connected eco-system of tools and tactics designed to reduce harm and avoid pain, reinforcing his lifelong dedication to saving lives and selfless service.
Mike Kleber, Senior Training Specialist at Wrap, vividly remembers the first time he met Becker.
“When I trained Cody in December 2020, I knew right away he had a passion for teaching. He didn’t just absorb information; he immediately wanted to share it, to use it, to make a difference,” said Kleber. “That passion shaped how others learned from him, and it left a real impact on the people he trained.”
That impact extended far beyond the classroom. Det. Sgt. Becker and Kleber stayed in touch over the years, exchanging stories about training and deployments. For Kleber, those conversations became a testament to Becker’s character.
“Cody was the kind of person who connected with you on a personal level,” added Kleber. “He’d call to talk about their first BolaWrap deployment or send me a copy of their policy, but he also checked in to make sure I got home safe after a snowstorm. He was generous, genuine, and deeply committed, not just to his officers, but to people.”
Det. Sgt. Becker’s leadership will continue to be felt in the lives of officers he trained, the safer outcomes made possible by his instruction, and the community he protected.
